Kallistos Earwax
Removal in Wellingborough and Finedon
Our Ear Care technician is fully qualified and was observed to ensure they meet the requirements of their safe clinical consultation and treatment.
Micro-suction is the gold standard for ear wax removal and we provide this service in Wellingborough and Finedon.
Ear syringing is no longer used in practice in Britain. Other forms of irrigation are still used but they are limited as you should not have your ears irrigated if you have a perforated ear drum, an infection or suffer with tinnitus or vertigo.
Micro-suction allows your technician to remove earwax safely. The technician can also show pictures of your ear canal.
On request letters can be sent to your GP free of charge.
SOFTENING THE WAX BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
In a few cases it may take more than one attempt to remove your wax for a few reasons, but the most common of these is if the wax has not been softened. To make the procedure as comfortable and effective as possible and to prepare for your appointment, we would recommend using olive oil to soften the wax.
Medical grade olive oil from your chemist is ideal for this. Read the instructions leaflet provided with your choice of olive oil carefully and use as directed before your appointment. Your ears might feel more blocked up after using olive oil and might reduce your hearing - this is because the wax will soak up the oil, but this is normal.
We charge £55 for removal of wax from one or both ears however, if there is no earwax on your visit, we charge £25 for the consultation and will carry out a hearing screening. We also provide home visits this cost £70. Both can be booked online or by phone 07877281392 or 01933224454
